Irisul func\u021bioneaz\u0103 similar diafragmei unui aparat foto: se dilat\u0103 \u00een \u00eentuneric pentru a l\u0103sa mai mult\u0103 lumin\u0103 \u0219i se contract\u0103 la lumin\u0103 puternic\u0103 pentru a proteja retina.<\/p><p>F\u0103r\u0103 iris sau cu un iris sever malformat, pacientul nu beneficiaz\u0103 de aceast\u0103 protec\u021bie natural\u0103. Odat\u0103 implantat \u00een ochi, \u00eendepline\u0219te func\u021biile irisului natural: blocheaz\u0103 lumina excesiv\u0103, reduce fotofobia \u0219i red\u0103 aspectul estetic normal al ochiului.<\/p><p>Implantarea irisului artificial este o procedur\u0103 chirurgical\u0103 de mare fine\u021be, care necesit\u0103 expertiz\u0103 deosebit\u0103. Aceasta este o complica\u021bie bine documentat\u0103 a afec\u021biunii, legat\u0103 de perturb\u0103rile structurale \u0219i biochimice ale ochiului aniridic.<\/p><p>Cataracta produce o <strong>vedere progresiv \u00eenceto\u0219at\u0103<\/strong>, ca \u0219i cum ai privi printr-un geam aburit. Malforma\u021bia structural\u0103 a unghiului de drenaj ocular, prezent\u0103 de la na\u0219tere, duce la <strong>cre\u0219terea tensiunii intraoculare<\/strong> \u0219i la deteriorarea progresiv\u0103 a nervului optic.<\/p><p>\u00cen cazul acestei paciente, <strong>glaucomul primar<\/strong> a necesitat \u00een cele din urm\u0103 interven\u021bie chirurgical\u0103 &#8211; dup\u0103 ce tratamentul medicamentos nu a mai fost suficient pentru a controla tensiunea ocular\u0103. Aceast\u0103 situa\u021bie &#8211; numit\u0103 <strong>decompensarea glaucomului<\/strong> &#8211; semnific\u0103 momentul \u00een care presiunea intraocular\u0103 scap\u0103 de sub controlul pic\u0103turilor \u0219i leziunile nervului optic risc\u0103 s\u0103 progreseze rapid.<\/p><p>Interven\u021bia chirurgical\u0103 pentru glaucom a vizat restabilirea unui drenaj adecvat al umorii apoase \u0219i reducerea tensiunii intraoculare la un nivel sigur pentru nervul optic.
